Achieving the top Digital Technologies score across all Year 10 students who completed ICAS assessments in New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific regions is an outstanding achievement by our student, Jesse Wanghan. His fantastic result has seen him earn a High Distinction award and medal.
“It was a pretty big suprise when I found out,” says Jesse about his top score.
Jesse, who says he has always been interested in I.T. and enjoys coding at home in his spare time, intends to one day study Computer Science at University.
Long Bay College was proud to acknowledge Jesse’s success by presenting him with a special award at the Academic Prizegiving on December 7.
As a Year 11 student in 2021, Jesse will continue with ICAS assessments, which he has been completing since he was in Year 6. He will study Level 2 Physic, Calculus and Digital Technologies as well as Level 1 English, Economics and French.
ICAS assessments can be completed by students from primary to secondary school and are held annually. The tests assess higher order thinking and problem-solving skills. Students cannot study for the assessments and must rely on their own skills, experience and knowledge to complete them.
