Keeping up with Performing Arts and Arts Week

Week 5 was all about the Arts!

It has been a busy hub of activity this week with an array of performances and workshops attended by the wider community of the school. Arts week is all about celebration of Dance, Drama, Music and Visual Arts and we have been very lucky to have guest tutors run workshops and live bands performing to our students. We have also looked at improvisation skills, drip painting and had the whole school participate in an Atawhai pop quiz with house points up for grabs!

We finished the week off with our very own band, The Craft performing their sound ‘riot girl punk/rock’ to a packed auditorium of students. Our art portfolio students have done an incredible job organising the week and showcasing what the arts are all about.  A special mention goes out to the Art Leaders, Riley Cooper and Katja Streibel as well as Performing Arts and Visual Arts staff supporting the events.

We have two incredible performances coming up, see below for a sneak peek.
