Mid winter celebrations raise funds for charities

The Senior Council recently planned and held a mid-winter celebration. The goal was to foster festive cheer for students in the lead up to exam season and raise money for those in need. Over three days, the group raised almost $1000 for our 2020 charities, Relay for Life and Habitat for Humanity. Relay for Life raises money for the Cancer Society, while Habitat for Humanity helps community members find affordable housing.

Over 150 cups of hot chocolate, 800 cookies, and 200 meringues were served, along with other baked goods. Christmas movie screenings were held in the auditorium at lunchtimes.

New World Long Bay and Torbay Fruit Shop generously donated items for a winter-themed hamper and a box of fresh produce for our raffle. Congratulations to Ms Tueton (our Visual Arts Photography Teacher) on her win!
