Nadia breaks long-term record

A 17 year old 100m sprint record has been broken by our very own Year 10 student, Nadia Evans. This October, Nadia competed in the first Auckland Athletics senior meet of the season at Mt Smart – the AAI McKinnon Shield #1. She broke the U16 North Harbour Bays Club record for the 100m with a time of 12.33s and achieved a new personal best, shaving nearly half a second off her previous best time! She now holds the fourth fastest time of 2019 on the Athletics NZ rankings for the U18 women’s 100m. In addition, Nadia also equalled the Auckland U18 60m record in a time of 7.74s. This is an amazing achievement for 15 year old Nadia. Please join us in congratulating her. Nadia is pictured with her proud sprint coach, Steve Erkkila who has also been a national sprint champion.
