Showquest’s 2020 challenge

Showquest is back for 2020 but due to the impact of COVID-19 lockdown, it will look a little different to last year’s inaugural event staged at Spark Arena. The Art, Culture, Dance, Drama, Music and Technology competition event for secondary schools will not be performed live but rather video submissions of performances will be made by schools instead.

Long Bay College Showquest leaders Lily Jones-Harvey, Jack Lowe, Lucy Tee, Indigo Crawford and Tayla Jordaan (Director) have been working hard to take our performance entry off the stage and into a five minute filmed production. The opportunity has opened up many more doors for the group as a team to demonstrate and communicate ideas through different methods of creative expression.

The students have named the College’s performance ‘Shifted’. The piece was inspired from the recent lockdown’s positive effect on the environment. The crew are keen to highlight the different stages of nature healing itself and the radical action people have taken in order to sustain the environment.

Our Showquest team are looking forward to working with a cast of amazing dancers from all Long Bay College year groups and create a captivating piece which showcases their ideas and purpose through a creative outlet.  Entries close on August 28.
