In 2021, as part of our culture of care, we’re launching the Peer Support programme to help junior students through their transition to College. Year 11 and 12 students have been invited to apply for the programme’s leadership roles. Training will be required in late January before the new school year begins.
Health and Physical Education Teacher and Peer Support Coordinator, Mrs Lucy Doran says she is delighted to have received a large number of applications from students to lead the Peers Support programme and she is now tasked with the difficult job of selecting the programme’s leaders.
Next year, Year 9 Atawhai groups will buddy up with two-three senior leaders who will take students through the Peer Support programme, which promotes class discussions, bonding, games and activities.
