Queen’s Award for Camille

Congratulations to Year 13 Prefect Camille Bennett. She has achieved the Queen’s Guide award. It is the highest award in Girl Guiding internationally, which takes around four years to complete.
She was recently invited to Government House to meet Her Excellency, The Right Honourable Dame Patsy Reddy (the Governor-General of New Zealand) for a celebration of the hard work involved.
“I completed my Queen’s Guide award at the end of last year. As part of my work towards the award, I completed twelve Interest Certificates and 12×12 challenges every year for three years. I also carried out community service by cleaning up my local beaches. I planned and completed an 87km coast to coast bike ride and served as a Ranger in leadership at my local Guide unit, running a day of activities at a camp last year. This year, I’m continuing to volunteer as a leader at the same unit.”
