Students’ pitch to industry experts in business challenge

Written by Mrs Denise Trent, Business Head of Faculty

This year, Long Bay College was one of 40 schools selected by the Young Enterprise Trust to experience the BP Business Challenge.

Our Year 11 students enjoyed a unique three day experiential learning programme to develop skills, understanding and attitudes about how a successful business operates and a chance to connect with the local business community. Students learnt about starting and running a business; the business planning process; creating and pitching their own business plans and they developed life and employability skills. The students presented their ideas to five judges from our community who were very impressed with their ideas and presentations.

Well done to Jamie Dyet, Talis Villafana, Cameron Waller, James Heys, Riley Brading, Elliot Powell and Seth Leith for winning the challenge.
