Top marks for LBC’s 2020 academic results

Senior students at Long Bay College who completed NZQA Scholarship and NCEA exams in 2020 have achieved some of the school’s best academic results to date.

“We are absolutely delighted with the outcomes,” says Long Bay College Principal, Mr CJ Healey.

“In the face of lockdown, we were very proactive with our processes and procedures to ensure students remained supported at every level. Our staff worked hard to offer our students every opportunity to succeed, and they absolutely have in what was a very tough year.”

Three NZQA Outstanding Scholarships were awarded to students, along with numerous Scholarships earned across 17 different curriculum areas of the school. “Witnessing year on year growth of our students’ academic success within the top three percent of the nation’s best scholars is such an achievement,” says Long Bay College Principal, Mr CJ Healey.

“We’re thrilled to see so many Year 13 students earn Scholarships. We also supported students in Years 11 and 12 to succeed at Scholarship levels as well, which is really impressive.”

At NCEA Levels 1 to 3, Long Bay’s student success rates ranged between 94 to 96 percent, which was a significant increase on previous years.
