Congratulations to Arts Prefect Maya Reed and Year 13 student, Ellie Hart who are both recipients of Pat Hanly Creativity Awards. The Pat Hanly awards were presented at a red carpet event at Auckland Art Gallery on August 29 and were given to only a small number of Year 13 students from across the Auckland region. Mrs Liese Strong, Head of the Visual Arts Faculty, nominated both Maya and Ellie for their outstanding creativity, imagination and commitment to the visual arts.
Both girls received certificates, art supplies and exclusive access to art workshops with prominent practicing artists. Guests at the awards were delighted to partake in the opening of the Colin McCahon’s ‘A Place to Paint’ exhibition. It was a very glamorous event to honour creative young minds.
Congratulations Maya and Ellie.
