Athletics Day

Long Bay College recently hosted an exhilarating Athletics Day where students showcased their athleticism and team spirit, all while competing for their respective house points. Named after native birds of New Zealand, the five houses- Takahē, Tīeke, Tara iti, Kea, and Kōkako competed in a variety of events, creating a day filled with excitement.

The Athletics Day featured a diverse range of competitions, including traditional favorites like shotput, long jump, high jump, gumboot throw, foam javelin, corn toss, and various running races. Adding to the festivities, the Sport Prefects curated a lineup of engaging activities for students to enjoy, including the classic Tug of War.

With both students and teachers eagerly participating in the events, Long Bay College enjoyed an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and energy. Whether it was cheering on their housemates, participating in the events, or enjoying the lively activities, everyone had a memorable and enjoyable experience.

We had an enjoyable day and would like to thank everyone who helped. It was a huge team effort, but it was great to see everyone having fun, creating memories, and experiencing the spirit and school pride at large. That was the icing on the cake.
