Sports – Full Swing at Long Bay College

Winter sports are in full swing at Long Bay College, showcasing impressive performances across codes. Both the Senior Premier Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball Teams have started strong. Our Junior Premier Boys team recently secured a thrilling victory over Rangitoto’s Junior Premier Boys team, marking a highlight of the season and hopefully with more to come.

The Football Boys 1st XI have been promoted to the A2 division after winning their playoff match against Mt Roskill Grammar. Our Football Girls’ 1st XI look to build on their successful season last year and kicked off the new campaign with a strong win against league favourites Glendowie College. Despite mixed results in Hockey, the teams are eager to excel now that the leagues are graded and look to continue their hard work from last season.

The Netball Premier Girls have also enjoyed a strong start to their campaign while the Year 9 netballers are performing exceptionally well, having won the Division Two North Harbour Netball Competition, convincingly winning all five games.

Our rugby teams across boys and girls are excelling. Our boys’ 1st XV is currently undefeated but are facing a challenging match against Orewa this weekend. Our Girls Premier Team have started the season strong with 2 wins and 2 loses. Additionally, the youth rugby boys’ teams (Y14s and Y15s) are continually improving, promising a bright future for Long Bay College rugby.

As the season progresses, we look forward to celebrating more victories and witnessing the incredible talent and dedication of our athletes.
